4GL’s successful implementation of the data warehouse/reporting environment for the University of California's Office of Admissions and Registrar spawned another project on campus with UCSD’s Student Financial Services (SFS).

Implementation of the SFS project mirrors the 4GL completed Office of Admissions and Registrar's project by using Red BrickTM on a Windows NT TM platform with FOCUS For Windows TM as a front end. The data to be accessed includes student information, student/parent financial information, loan programs, and payments.

4GL designed and built the warehouse schema. Tasks to be completed include data loading, data cleansing, and conversion of mainframe FOCUS code and data to the windows environment.

4GL consultants are facilitating intense knowledge transfer of this technology with the Student Financial Services staff members. This implementation provides a solution for the need to move off the mainframe and preserve existing code.
